♦ Episode 6
“Oh, that’s true o, please come out o, I am talking about my school mate that nicknamed himself Ebola.” Chorus replied and the hidden people at the reception came out from there hiding places one after the other but none came back without lashing abuses on Chorus.
“What happen between you and Ebola?” Becky asked.
“Ehmm… he told me to stop dating one girl that was just forcing herself on me, I hate that girl seriously.” Chorus replied with frown face.
“Okay… hmmm, let wait for the Doctor.” Becky concluded as she walked majestically to an empty seat and Chorus followed behind her.
“I think that is the Doctor.” Becky voiced out as she pointed out for the doctor from a distance.
“Excuse me sir…” Becky called from a distance and the Doctor stopped for her.
“Good morning sister, please how may I help you?” The Doctor asked smiling.
“Good morning sir, I came to check on my friend Chris Benita.” Becky replied sadly.
“Oh! Okay, let go to my office.” The Doctor concluded as he led the way to his office.
“Sir, how is her health now?” Becky asked sorrowfully.
“Sincerely speaking, her health is not improving at all, rather her health is worsening.” The Doctor commented and Becky broke into tears.
“I told her friend that came here yesterday that if a donor can’t be found, that means her days are numbered.” The Doctor concluded.
“Sir, I don’t know if… I can be the … d..do..donor.” Chorus uttered stammering.
“Chorus, you want to donate a kidney for Benita?” Becky asked in disbelief.
“Is there anything wrong in that?” Chorus asked confusingly.
“Ah! Thank you darling.” Becky appreciated and she unwillingly hugged Chorus.
“Becky, you’re hugging me.” Chorus uttered chokingly. He doesn’t expect such form of appreciation for Becky.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I was extremely happy.” Becky stated as she disengaged herself from Chorus,
“Thank you gentleman, please if I may ask you, what is your relation with our patient?” The Doctor asked.
“Relation? Hmmm… let say fiancée.” Chorus replied hesitatingly.
“Fiancée?” Becky sighed surprisingly.
“Gentleman, that is what is call true love, this world would have been a better place if everybody is like you.” The Doctor commented as he brought his hand forth for a handshake and Chorus shook hand with him with broad smile all over his face.
“Doctor, can we see her?” Becky asked impatiently.
“Yes, but we haven’t talk about the pay for the operation.” The Doctor pronounced and Becky burst into laughter.
“Oh, please how much is the hospital bills and the surgery bill to be carry out.” Becky asked literarily.
“The hospital bills are minor thing but the operation bill is quite expensive.” The Doctor replied enthusiastically.
“How much?” Becky asked confidently.
“The Surgery bill is four hundred thousand naira.” The Doctor announced.
“Ehn!” Chorus yelled shockingly as he stumbled from the chair he was sitting.
“Calm down Mr. Man.” The Doctor cautioned and Chorus sluggishly rose on his feet with ache legs.
“Four hundred thousand, right?” Becky asked unmoving.
“Yes.” The Doctor approved smiling.
“Okay, what is the mode of payment?” Becky asked smiling.
“You pay into the hospital bank account.” The Doctor replied.

“Please send me the account details. But doctor, do you guarantee me they will both survive? I can’t afford to lose any one of them.” Becky replied doubtfully.
“Yes Miss, my only prayer is that Mr. Chorus has the necessary requirements for the operation.” The Doctor replied.
“I will carry out some series of tests on him now.” The Doctor replied and he rose on his feet.
“Okay Doctor, when will that be?” Chorus asked.
“Now…” The Doctor replied and he rose on his feet.
“Follow me please.” The Doctor concluded as he led the way out of his office.
“Miss Becky, please wait for us at the reception, we will be back very soon.” The Doctor concluded and he left with Chorus.
