“Are you okay now?” I asked Tasha as she came out of the
restroom looking flushed. She’d been throwing up since
morning and it was beginning to get on my nerves.
“I warned you about eating so much but you always think I’m
Satan that doesn’t want you to prosper.”
“So if I’m hungry,I should starve myself abi?”
“Did I just hear you say hungry? You eat almost every second
of the day Tasha.”
“Is it affecting you?”
“Of course it is. You’re looking so fat Tasha. I can’t even let
you go out with me.”
“So you’ve finally said the truth Elliot.”She looked hurt.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you baby.”
“It’s the baby Elliot. It’s not my fault. How do I make you
“Tasha, don’t bring the baby into this.”
“I’m not dragging the baby into this, haven’t you heard that
pregnant women tend to gain weight?” She yelled and stormed
out of the room
“Damn you Elliot!” I punched the wall
“I bet you felt better after telling him.” Mum said at the dining
table while we were eating
“Yeah I did, I felt a certain kind of peace I hadn’t felt in a long
time.” I answered
“I told you so” She turned to dad.
“I hope he didn’t say anything silly?” Dad asked. He wasn’t in
support of letting Eric seeing Tristan.
“Nope, except asking me back in his life.”
“Careful honey,you’ll choke.”
“And you said?”
“Of course I refused.”
“Liam don’t say what you want to say.”
He laughed. “Can someone tell me how this pretty wife of
mine knows what I want to say.”
“I’m not called your better half for no reason.” Mum replied.
“Can you guys stop acting all lovey dovey? I’m getting
“Aww baby, your time is coming and we’ll be jealous then.”
“Doesn’t seem likely.” I muttered under my breath.
“What was that Kara?” Mum raised her brows.
“Mum what kind of man will marry me knowing that I have a
child for another person?”
“A man that’s in love with you Kara for who you are and not
who you were.” Dad replied as he reached for my hand.
“You’re dad’s right Kara.”
“It’s easy for you to say because you’re already married.”
“Have you forgotten I got married to this lovely man without a
womb? Darling, your case isn’t half as bad as mine was. You’ll
find your own sweetheart and I’ll remind you of this
“She has just said it all Kara. You have to be strong for Tristan
so he’ll grow to adore and admire you.”
“You’re the best parents in the whole world.” I broke down
after promising myself a thousand times I wouldn’t.
“Little Tristan wouldn’t want to see his momma cry okay?” Dad
patted my back softly and I wiped my tears.
